Chui
Chui is a young Croatian quartet which nourishes a different approach to jazz. The combination of contemporary club dance music combined with jazz, electronics and rock’n’roll on their first album (“Chui” Dancing Bear 2012), uncompromisingly secured “Chui” a cult status on the Croatian music scene. By the end of 2013, Dancing Bear also released their another album “The Second Arrival”, which, together with their debut album, received great feedback and praise from music critics and audiences. In 2015, Chui announces the third album, “Third Sun From The Stone”, which, besides having only excellent reviews, has been proclaimed on almost all top lists as a “Domestic album of the year”. So far, no jazz ensemble has ever been achieved such gloriuos status in Croatia. Last year, “Chui” members also recorded the album “Chui” in collaboration with the Jazz Orchestra of Croatian Radio Television, which they successfully presented in the sold-out Tvornica Kulture (Culture Factory in Zagreb), and got two Porin (highest musical award in Croatia, respectfully); one for the best jazz album and the other for jazz performance. They also recorded a song with the Croatian music star Josipa Lisac, which also received Porin for the best vocal performance.
